Preparing for Interview Day
All applicants are required to dress professionally (i.e. suit, tie, dress, slacks, sports coat, blazer, etc.) for Interview Day.
The meeting room tends to be cool, so we encourage applicants to bring a jacket/sweater.
Applicants will be walking around the campus, so wearing comfortable shoes is encouraged.
- We understand that professional dress is subjective, but as future healthcare professionals, we encourage all applicants to demonstrate their knowledge of the Gessner College of Nursing student dress code policy, S138 Dress Code Policy, through their appearance at Interview Day.
We encourage applicants to keep the following professional dress suggestions in mind as they prepare for Interview Day:
- Hair should be a natural color and clean. Hair longer than shoulder length should be pulled back and secured.
- Beards and other facial hair should be clean and neatly trimmed at a clipper level 2 or less.
- Artificial eyelashes or eyelash extensions will not be permitted if accepted into the program.
- General cleanliness and good grooming are expected at all times.
- Heavy makeup, perfumed scents or strong body odor will not be permitted if accepted into the program.
- Minimal jewelry (example: one wedding band set, a watch, and one set of stud earrings).
- Visible tattoos should be covered so as not to draw attention to these adornments.
- Visible body piercings should be removed. Earlobe gauging or elongation will not be permitted if accepted into the program.
- Nail polish/artificial nails will not be permitted if accepted into the program.
