Financial Aid and Scholarships
Nursing students who have been admitted into one of our programs may apply for Internal scholarships by filling out a Gessner College of Nursing scholarship application. Scholarships are awarded every semester. Students will need to submit an application every semester for continued funds, as available, and verification that students meet scholarship criteria.
The Gessner College of Nursing provides a list of External scholarships maintained by outside entities; nursing students will click individual scholarship links for more information about requirements and deadlines. Each scholarship application may have different requirements; therefore, it is important to carefully review the instructions, and find the contact information for each scholarhip for any questions.
The university also provides an abundance of scholarship resources. The UH Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid has information for Undergraduate and Graduate students.
All students are highly encouraged to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) every year, which can help the Financial Aid Office verify eligibility for financial aid options through the government. More information about FAFSA can be found at How to Apply for Financial Aid.
Pre-Nursing students are not eligible to apply for nursing internal or external scholarships as they have not been accepted into the Gessner College of Nursing Traditional BSN program.
Pre-Nursing students are encouraged to explore the Types of Aid available to UH students. UH Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid also has Virtual Advising if you have additional questions about financial aid.
