Admission Requirements for Second Degree BSN
Only individuals with an accredited bachelor’s degree or higher in a non-Nursing major can apply to the Second Degree BSN. Individuals with an international degree need to complete additional procedures before applying.
All applicants are required to meet the following requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited baccalaureate degree program. The baccalaureate degree must have been completed prior to the August 1 deadline.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to be eligible to apply.
- Applicants are encouraged to have a GPA of 3.0 in natural and behavioral sciences to be considered competitive.
- Completed all prerequisite course work and submitted transcripts prior to the deadline date of August 1. No in-progress courses will be accepted.
- Completed the Texas Core Curriculum.
- Completed the Nursing Field of Study.
- Completed SOCI 1301.
- Received ATI TEAS Individual Performance Profile results.

Individuals who meet the above requirements are encouraged to apply to the Second Degree BSN.
