Academic Support and Tutoring
Academic Support
The Scholar Enrichment Program (SEP) provides a number of programs to support undergraduates in science and math. Here are a few particular programs to be aware of:
-
SEP Workshops are available for many first-year and second-year math courses (e.g., Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Linear Algebra Engineering Math, PDEs). You register for a workshop in addition to the course, and attend the workshops weekly to gain extra practice on the material in your course. Junior and Senior math students can apply to be paid facilitators for the workshops.
-
The Summer Scholars Academy (by invitation only) offers an intensive 9-week program that is designed for students who have an outstanding high school academic record and are interested in majors in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
-
The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (L-SAMP) provides numerous methods of support for minority undergraduates in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
For more information about SEP, please contact the Program Manager, Eduardo Cerna. Online Help Materials, maintained by Dr. Jeff Morgan, provide assistance for both traditional and online mathematics courses.
