Health Outcomes and Policy Ph.D. Students Earn Awards to Present Projects at International Pharmacoepidemiology Meeting
August 15 — Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy Ph.D. program candidate Jagadesh Rao Earla, Pharm.D., MBA, M.S., and student Shrey Gohil have been awarded ICPE All Access 2020 scholarships from the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE).
The scholarships provide several benefits to the recipients, including complementary registration to the International Conference on Pharmacoepidemilogy (ICPE) All Access 2020 virtual event, a one-year membership to ISPE, and access to recorded content from other ISPE meetings and webinars.
During the ICPE virtual meeting, Earla will deliver an oral presentation, "Comparative treatment effectiveness of oral fingolimod and injectable disease-modifying agents in multiple sclerosis," based on his doctoral dissertation research.
Gohil will present a poster, "Interventions To Improve Medication Adherence In Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Systematic Review," along prerecorded audio overview of his research.
ISPE provides a global forum for the open exchange of scientific information and for the development of policy, education, and advocacy for the field of pharmacoepidemiology, including such areas as pharmacovigilance, drug utilization research, comparative effectiveness review, and therapeutic risk management. ISPE members represent the various scientific disciplines involved in studying drugs and are employed by the pharmaceutical industry, academic institutions, government agencies, non-profit and for-profit private organizations.
