Keliy Anderson-Staley’s work has been exhibited at the Akron Museum of Art, Bronx Museum of Art, California Museum of Photography, National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian, Shelburne Museum, and Ogden Museum of Southern Art. She has had major solo exhibitions at Art Museum of Southeast Texas; Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, GA; Palitz Gallery in New York City; SFO Museum in CA; Society for Photographic Education in Cleveland; Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona, FL; and University of Maine Museum of Art, Bangor, ME. Her work is included in the collections of Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Comer Collection at UT Dallas, Haverford College, Honickman Foundation, Library of Congress, Museum of Fine Arts-Houston, and the Portland Museum of Art. Locally, she has had solo exhibitions at the Lawndale Art Center, Galveston Arts Center, Houston Center for Photography and Rice University Media Center.
Anderson-Staley’s projects have been funded by grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Houston Arts Alliance, the George and Eliza Gardner Howard Foundation, Puffin Foundation and Sustainable Arts Foundation. She was also the recipient of the Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship from the Houston Center for Photography and the Clarence John Laughlin award from the New Orleans Photo Alliance. She was an artist-in-residence at Light Work in Syracuse, NY and the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester.
Anderson-Staley has completed major public art commissions for the City of Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority and the United Airlines Terminal at IAH. Her work has been written about and reviewed in the New York Times, New Yorker, Boston Globe, Photo District News, Photograph, ARTnews, B&W Magazine, Camerawork, Philadelphia Inquirer and Oxford American. Her book of tintype portraits, On a Wet Bough, was published in 2014 by Waltz Books.
