Each week, we shine a light on a key SAM or MAPP policy that directly affects faculty. This week’s focus: Freedom of Expression.
This policy outlines the University of Houston’s commitment to upholding free expression while maintaining a safe, civil, and respectful campus environment. It establishes rules for when, where, and how expressive activities—such as demonstrations, literature distribution, and displays—may occur, ensuring they do not disrupt University operations or violate laws. The policy also details procedures for reserving outdoor spaces, restrictions on amplified sound and signage, and enforcement measures for violations.
