Faisal Khan, Ph.D.

Dr. Faisal Khan is Mike O'Connor Chair II Professor and Department Head in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University, USA. He is also the Director of Mary Kay O Connor Process Safety Center and Ocean Energy Safety Institute. His research interests include Offshore Safety and Risk Engineering, Asset Integrity Management, Process System Design, and AI application s to the process systems.

Dr. Khan is a former Professor and Canada Research Chair (Tier I) of Offshore Safety and Risk Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. He is actively involved with multinational energy industries on the issue s of safety, risk, and asset integrity. He was a visiting scholar in safety and risk engineering at Lloyd's Register (UK), Qatar University, and the University of Tasmania, Australia. He founded many research centers : C-RISE in Canada, a safety center in Qatar, and an offshore safety group in Australia. He also served as Safety and Risk Advisor to the Government of Newfoundland, Canada, and Peru. He is a Fellow of the Canada Academy of Engineers. He mentored 100+ PhDs and co-authored over 7 00 peer-reviewed journal publications with an H-index 1 21. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Process Safety & Environmental Protection.
