FAQs
Do I need a parking permit?
If you will be parking a vehicle on campus, you will need to have a parking permit,
unless you use one of the paid visitor parking options that are available.
How do I get a parking permit?
Register through your myParking Account, accessible via AccessUH, and select your
permit. Permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be enrolled
in classes prior to purchasing a permit.
Will my parking permit be mailed to me?
University of Houston parking permits are virtual, so there are no plastic hangtags
to mail.
I am not satisfied with the permit I selected. May I change it?
Students, faculty and staff can exchange their permits at any time, just as long as
the permit that is desired has not sold out. Please note that student parking permits
are semester only. After the 12th class day of the semester, the student permits cannot
be canceled for a refund.
How do I pay for my parking permit?
Students who purchase a permit online will have the permit charge added to their fee
bill. The fee bill is your UH account where all university-related fees (housing,
graduation application, online education, etc.) and tuition are posted. The permit
charge will appear within 1-2 weeks and will need to be paid by the specified due
date to avoid additional charges. Student permits bought during the summer for the
upcoming fall will not appear on the fee bill until near the start of the fall semester.
Faculty-staff permits are paid for through payroll deduction. Faculty and staff who
want to pay for their permit via a credit card must come in person to the Parking
and Transportation Services customer service location. Please note that in order to
be eligible for payroll deductions, you must be a regular full- or part-time employee
who is paid by the university.
I don't want my permit any longer. Can I get a refund?
Student parking permits are sold by the semester. Semester permits can be canceled
for a refund only if done by the 12th class day of the semester. Refunds are not issued
if the permit is not canceled by the 12th class day.
