Dr. Wangchao Xu’s lab is exploring an entirely new field: Fly Neuroimmunology. The goal is to unravel the complex interactions between microbes, the brain, and the immune system. The fundamental questions he aims to address are:
- How does the brain respond to internal and external microbes?
- How does the brain collaborate with the immune system to regulate the microbiota and control pathogens?
- What role do glial cells play in these processes?
