Student Recital: Marina Burguete Diago, cello

From the studio of Eunghee Cho, cellist Marina Burguete Diago presents a solo recital in partial fulfillment of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree.

I agree with the idea that people like to listen to music they can relate to because it resonates with their emotions and experiences, creating a deeper connection. This connection can make listeners feel understood and less alone in their feelings. Personally, I listen to music because it brings back memories or because I grew up listening to the style. I think the melodies and lyrics of some songs remind me of other songs that I grew up listening to.

Halsey, for instance, is often labeled pop, but her music contains elements of rock and alternative. It can give listeners the impression that her sound is more typical than it really is. The song Nightmare for example adds edgy lyrics with a strong, guitar-driven sound, showcasing her skills beyond pop.
