McGovern College students:
An update for March 25:
Announcing: virtual Arts and Technology Center
I have been getting some concerns about the closure of the ATC and the loss of support opportunities from ATC staff. In light of that, we are happy to announce that we are offering a virtual ATC via Microsoft Teams for the remainder of the semester. Graduate and undergraduate monitors will be available for discussions, chat, and video conference, from 8 AM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday and 9 AM to 5 PM Friday for the rest of the semester.
Consider this a sounding board outside of your classrooms, a place to gather and discuss, as well as an opportunity for tutoring in the arts. Not sure what to ask? Each grad has posted a little about themselves on the Graduate Bios tab. Use the code m4rhbc9 to join the team. You may post in the general discussion area or, if you have a specific question for one of the graduate students, reach out to them directly on their individual channels. Monitors may also respond via chat or video conference for more detailed responses.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact ATC Manager Heather Bisesti on Microsoft Teams or via email at hbisesti@uh.edu.
Library updates
I have attached a document from Music library Coordinator Madelyn Washington regarding important updates on library services.Interim undergraduate grade policy announced
The Provost has announced an interim undergraduate grade policy that accounts for the unique and unprecedented challenges to students posed by the pandemic. The policy is here.Call for online content
Are you making art and sharing your process or your products online? Are you collaborating with others online and experimenting with recording your readings or performances? If so, we want to see you you’re doing. We are looking for video content in all forms, which we would like to use to demonstrate what the McGovern College and its students are doing during this most extraordinary and challenging time for the arts. If you are willing to share your content, and willing (by sharing it with us) to give us permission to use the content online to demonstrate what’s happening in the college, we will providing a means for you to share the content. Watch future messages for more information.
Please continue to direct questions to me and I will continue to answer them. Congratulations to making it to midway through the first week of all-remote instruction! I really appreciate the work everyone is doing.
