The Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston is home to the Blaffer Art Museum, Dudley Recital Hall, Elgin Street Studios, Jose Quintero Lab Theatre, Lyndall Finley Wortham Theatre, Moores Opera House and Studio 208.

Whether you’re here for an event, performance, exhibition, camp, festival, or audition, we want your experience to be an enjoyable one. We hope the parking information provided below will help make your visit to campus as smooth as possible. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Important Update: Construction in the UH Arts District

As part of ongoing improvements across campus, multiple construction projects are currently underway in the UH Arts District. These efforts are designed to enhance accessibility, create inviting green spaces, and improve overall navigation around our venues.

While these upgrades are exciting, they will temporarily impact how you access and park near our venues.

We’ve outlined key details below to help you plan your visit:

Construction & Closure Timeline

• Wilhelmina’s Grove Renovation - March 2024 – October 2025
• Loop Road Closure - December 2024 – October 2025
  • Phase 1 in front of the Moores School of Music will be complete in July and fencing removed.
• Parking Lot 16/Zone B Closure – May 23 – August 1, 2025

• Visitors – Text-to-Pay - $10 flat rate
  • Elgin Street Garage – Visitor Section

  • Instructions (Complete before you leave your vehicle):
    • Text the code 21D to 25023.
    • Click on the link provided in the text message.
    • Select the amount of time, enter your license plate, and complete payment.

KGMCA Event Parking, Evenings (after 5pm), and Weekends - $10 flat rate

• For larger summer events, attendants will be stationed at:

  • Zone A
• Additional lots that may be used with prior guest notification:
  • Lot 18A
  • Lot 19E

Driving Directions (During Construction)

From I-45 South:

• Exit Cullen Blvd.
• Turn right on Cullen Blvd.
• Continue left on Elgin St.
• Zone B/Lot 16 visitor parking entrance is on the right

From I-45 North:

• Exit Elgin-Lockwood-Cullen Blvd.
• Turn left on Elgin St.
• Continue straight on Elgin St.
• Zone B/Lot 16 visitor parking entrance is on the left
