Ron E. Jackson (HA ’24) holds roles as president, chief executive officer and owner of Meadowbrook Golf, International Gold Maintenance and Golf Ventures.
Meadowbrook Golf owns and manages 68 golf properties throughout the US and Caribbean, from private to semi-private clubs. International Golf Maintenance maintains 28 properties in the US. Golf Ventures is a turf supply company, which services 400 courses in Florida and neighboring states, in addition to hotels and golf resorts in the Caribbean. Golf Ventures is also the largest Caribbean Turf Company.
Jackson is the tournament director and host of the Father-Son Challenge on NBC at Champions Gate, one of the courses he built, for six years. Since 2001, he has completed successful openings on a number of courses and clubhouses through out the US.
Since the successful completion of the REIT’s IPO in 2009, Jackson has served on the Pebblebrook Hospitality trust board, as one of only six trustees. Pebblebrook’s 46 owned boutique hotels include five in Los Angeles (W. Beverly Hills, Mondrian –Sunset Strip, etc.) and five in San Francisco (Argonaut, One Hotel – Fisherman's Wharf, etc.). Jackson is also the chairman of Pebblebrook’s Compensation Committee of the Billion Dollar Company.
Prior to joining Meadowbrook Golf in January 2001, Jackson was the chief operating officer of Chartwell Leisure, a New York hotel owner, operator and developer, with 139 properties in the US, Canada and Mexico. Following Chartwell Leisure, Jackson was the president and chief operating officer of Resort Condominiums International (RCI), a Cendant Company with 2,600 resorts in 109 countries.
Jackson was also the founder, president and chief executive officer of Sunbelt Hotels and Sunbelt Hotel Management Company, which was the largest franchisee of Hilton Hotels in the US, for nine years.
Among his many accomplishments, Jackson developed several Hilton properties from the ground up, including the Hilton Houston Hobby Airport, Hilton College Station, Hilton Beaumont, and Hilton Wichita Falls, among others. In addition, Sunbelt Hotels managed many more brands, such as Sheraton and Marriott.
A long-time supporter of Hilton College, he serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board and was one of its first two members when Dr. Jim Taylor, the College’s founding dean, established the group 38 years ago. Jackson has served with every Dean that Hilton College has had in place since inception.
Jackson received a bachelor of science in finance and marketing from Brigham Young University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Utah/Stanford University.
