Retail, Auxiliary, and Dining Center (RAD Center) - University of Houston

Retail, Auxiliary, and Dining (RAD) Center

The RAD Center’s Phase II is complete, and all six food concepts are open! We are located at the site of the old Satellite building, near the Science & Research Building 2 and the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication.

Come and enjoy the tasty offerings from:

  • Absurd Bird (chicken tenders)
  • Paper Lantern (Asian grill)
  • RAD Market
  • The Burger Joint (hand-crafted burgers)
  • The Nook Café (coffee, pastries and more)
  • The Taco Stand (authentic tacos, burritos and more)

During the Fall and Spring semesters, RAD Market, The Nook Cafe, and The Taco Stand are open for breakfast. Days and hours of operation vary, so please check here for current information.

The RAD Center is a 41,000-square-foot facility which opened Phase I in Spring 2024. The two-story building features 400 guest seats, including outdoor patio seating on both floors, where you can enjoy views of the beautiful greenery on campus while you dine.

Phase III

The third and final phase of the RAD Center is scheduled for Summer 2026. This construction project will create additional square footage for dining and allow the addition of approximately 200 additional seats. A reflection room is also planned for the 2nd floor and will provide a space for individuals to reflect, meditate, or engage in other forms of mindfulness and contemplation.
